With a heavy heart, the organisation of the International Acht van Bladel has decided to cancel the 75th edition. This decision was made this morning in consultation with the municipality and the police.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, extensive work was still carried out on a comprehensive heat plan, and significant investments were made in additional water points, shaded areas, and other measures to protect participants, volunteers, and spectators as much as possible.

However, the expected conditions are so extreme that we consider it irresponsible to allow riders to start or to deploy traffic controllers, volunteers, and other staff for extended periods in this heat.

The disappointment is great. For a year, work has been underway toward this anniversary edition, which was to be realised with great effort from volunteers, sponsors, and other involved parties. The news has therefore been received with understanding, but certainly also with sadness.

We hope to still be able to organise the 75th Acht van Bladel next year.

However, this will only be possible if the necessary police support is again available.
