A long escape was rewarded. British cyclist Max Walker was able to stay in front of the other cyclists and won. The sprint was won by Olav Kooij in front of Robert Donaldson.

Lars Hohmann also remains the leader for the yellow jersey. This head start of almost a minute seemed to give him the first spot on the stage.
